The importance of proper nutrition in promotion and maintenance of the human body has been supported by numerous clinical trials and medical experts. In fact, the body requires a daily supply of essential nutrients to carry out function. It cannot succeed in accomplishing the millions of daily physiologic tasks if not provided these essential nutrient co-factors. It is without question, the demand for nutrition is significantly increased in health challenges. Nature’s Blueprint
The sun, rain, soil, bacteria and plant root structures combine to produce one of Nature's miracles: The conversion of nutrient particles found within the soil into minerals that are bio-available to both plants and people. For nutrients to be bio-available, they must:
The Earth’s atmosphere once contained 40% oxygen, but today the air we breathe only contains 16% to 19% oxygen – ONE-HALF what our body was designed for! Many renowned medical researchers have produced evidence correlating a lack of oxygen to virtually all diseases. In 1905, very few people had cancer – the oxygen level at that time is estimated to have been about 30%. In the 1940’s, the oxygen level in our atmosphere measured 25%, and one out of twenty Americans had cancer. Today, one-third of Americans are diagnosed with cancer, and within the next 5-10 years it has been estimated that the number will rise to 50% of the population that will be experiencing some form of cancer. “The growth of cancer cells is initiated by a relative lack of oxygen. Cancer cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment.” ~ Dr. Otto Warburg Nature Has Been Ambushed
Nutrients within the soil were intended to be taken up by plants and then delivered to humans through their harvest of the land. America leads the world in nutrient-depleted soil. This fact has been quietly known for decades. Even the US government, in US Senate Document 264 from the 74th Congress in 1936stated the following:
![]() What Is the Importance of Body Balance?
Your body was designed to be healthy. The human body consists of water and minerals, both of which are essential to life. A proper balance of minerals is required for appropriate function and electrical conductivity. So often we focus on what is unhealthy in the body - what needs to be fixed. The focus is not on how we can get the body healthy and balanced, but how can we fix the immediate problem. Along with this philosophy is the idea of body balance. Realize that it is when the body goes out of balance that disease sets in. Look at this very simple example: When we work late hours, are over-stressed, and eat poorly, most of us get sick or extremely run down. Is this surprising? Absolutely not! What is created? A completely unbalanced situation contributes to ill health. An excess or deficiency of any one mineral can throw the body out of its delicate health balance. When the body goes out of balance, pain and disease can set in. Why Do I Need to Know About Health Supplement Minerals?
We are "living soil." Our bodies are made primarily of water and minerals. The biological matrix of our bodies requires that we have the proper balance of minerals for appropriate function and electrical conductivity. Vitamins, water, oxygen, food and rest are all critical aspects of our health. But, through our food, we absorb nutrients and vitamins which are like “boards and nails.” We still need to have a “hammer” to drive them into the human cells – minerals are the hammer! As we provide our bodies with the proper supplementation of vitamins and minerals, it immediately utilizes these resources. However, to restore good health and regain the desired state of homeostasis (balance) is a process that takes a committed and consistent supplementation regimen over a period of time. Sometimes results can be realized in a matter of days, or weeks – but, for more significant results, oftentimes it can take months. What are Minerals?
Inorganic substances occurring naturally in the earth's crust. They have certain chemical makeup and, usually, a crystal-like structure. Nutrients are found in food as a compound, rather than as a free element. Minerals are important in regulating many body functions.
A mineral deficiency occurs when there is an inability to use one or more of the mineral elements needed for human nutrition. Causes are usually attributed to birth defects, digestive disorder, or lack of that mineral in the diet. Symptoms vary, depending on the particular function or functions of the element in helping growth and keeping the body healthy. All mineral deficiencies are treated by adding the specific element to the diet, either as a pill or in the right foods. Minerals are part of all the body tissues and fluids. They are important factors in keeping physiological processes going. Minerals are part of all the body tissues and fluids. They are important factors in keeping physiological processes going. They act in nerve responses, muscle contractions, and the changes of nutrients in foods. They regulate electrolyte balance and the making of hormones. They strengthen skeletal structures. Why are Minerals Important?
Minerals are essential to every function within the human body. Minerals and trace elements must exist in relative balance in the fluids, cells, organs, and tissues of the body to contribute to human health. Trace minerals do not function well in the body by themselves, but rather, in relationship to one another. For example, too much of one mineral can lead to imbalances in another. The goal is to achieve mineral balance in the body. Why can't we get the minerals from our foods?
The combined factors of nutrient-depleted agricultural soils from centuries of use and synthetic fertilizers forcing crops to grow rapidly with no regard to nutrient absorption, results in foods having very little mineral nutritional value. Will the Minerals React With Pharmaceutical Medicines?
Traditionally, mineral supplementation has been very safe. However, specific drugs may have specific guidelines for use. It is recommended that before starting any mineral or nutritional program, you check with your healthcare professional for possible interactions. How do I Know What I Need?
Unless you know the “WHAT” about your body, and stop treating only the symptoms, or, worse yet, believing that the lack of noticeable symptoms is proof that you are healthy, you will not know the “HOW”. You may be wasting a lot of valuable time and money with a “shot-in-the-dark” approach, such as self-diagnosing (without any scientific basis, or nutritional knowledge) and/or ingesting quantities of the latest “miracle herb, mineral or vitamin”. Worse yet is the common attitude – “Well, it worked for Cousin Harry, it should work for me, too”. Many people use this approach and go to their nearest grocery store and purchase huge amounts of vitamins, minerals, etc., with no real knowledge of what it is they are getting. Then, after taking the “hodge-podge” they selected and achieving NO noticeable, nor positive, results, the only conclusion they can make is that “vitamin and mineral supplements do not work – it is just a waste of money!” This is the WRONG approach to improving and regaining health and wellness – it is only trial and error – truly GUESSWORK – and will not work because it is not the proper protocol to achieving a healthy nutritional balance of the body’s systems. How Do I Learn What to Do?
Everyone needs good foundational health, including minerals, vitamins, proper pH, oxygen, hydration, antioxidants, a clean internal terrain, etc. The best way to discover your specific needs is to reflect upon your lifetime dietary habits and practices. In addition, look at your current health and those specific physical challenges you may be experiencing. HealthStyles4U offers a Nutritional Testing and Evaluation Protocol that is designed to personalize a health assessment – a type to fit each individual and address their particular needs – pinpointing health deficiencies, and have a customized health regimen that allows you to detect any “slippage” at the latency level – then make the adjustments needed to correct any imbalances. Can I Take Too Much?
It is important to note that any compound when taken in extreme excess can be unhealthy for the body. For example, even water, when taken in massive quantities, can be harmful. When analyzing the toxicity of a product or material, it is important to recall what contributes to toxicity in the body. These being:
There cannot be a blanket statement to cover all compounds, or even minerals and vitamins. Each respective ingredient has its own "biochemical uniqueness." Therefore, the US RDA recommends a suggested maximum amount of various substances to be taken each day. Finally, because of their water soluble and ionic nature, they are easily used and excreted by the body. However, all healthcare products should be taken with care. Any material when taken in extreme excess can be unhealthy for the body. We suggest to always follow the recommended dosages provided. If you wish to deviate from this, we suggest you do so under the care of a medical professional. As with all ingested materials, more is not always better. Taken in moderation, water-soluble minerals pose little, if any, threat of toxicity. Larger doses of water-soluble mineral products should be taken under the advice of a healthcare professional (specifically, iron is an element which should be taken in small doses unless otherwise advised). Trace Minerals - Everything in Moderation
Minerals are essential to life. However, it is important that we follow nature's blueprint when it comes to the quantity and frequency of mineral use regarding supplements. There are different types of minerals. One classification is Macro-minerals. These minerals are found in abundance in the human body, such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. They are plentiful in the human body and it is difficult to take too much of these types of minerals.
