Detoxification is the body’s natural process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins via the liver, the kidneys, the urine, the feces, exhalation, and perspiration. Yet, as a result of the industrial revolutions and the post-World War II petrochemical revolution, toxins have accumulated in the human system faster than they can be eliminated. People now carry within their bodies a modern-day chemical cocktail derived from industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, heavy metals, anesthetics, and the residues of pharmaceutical drugs, legal drugs (alcohol, tobacco, caffeine), and illegal drugs (amphetamines, cocaine, heroine, marijuana). Today people are exposed to chemicals in far greater concentrations than they were in previous generations. For example, over 69 million Americans live in areas that exceed smog standards, and most drinking water contains over seven hundred chemicals, including excessive levels of lead. Some 3,000 chemicals are added to the food supply; as many as 10,000 chemicals in the form of solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives are used in food processing and storage, which can remain in the body for many years. To make matters worse, food and product labels do not always list every ingredient. When people consume these foods, especially seafood, meat, and poultry, they ingest all the chemicals and pesticides that have remained as contaminants accumulating in the food chain. Every day products, such as gasoline, paint, household cleaners, cosmetics, pesticides, and dry cleaning fluids, pose a serious threat because the body cannot easily break them down and eliminate them. At the same time, ecological changes in the environment are occurring faster than the human organisms can adapt to them. As the earth becomes more and more polluted, the body inadvertently becomes a filter that “traps” these pollutants. The current level of chemicals in the food and water supply and the indoor and outdoor environment has lowered our threshold of resistance to disease, and has altered our body’s metabolism, causing enzyme dysfunction, nutritional deficiencies, and hormonal imbalances. Toxic fertilizers are another major problem with farming that we can site as an example. Toxic, chemical fertilizers are being sold to farmers as something necessary and beneficial, but in many cases it is just another way to eliminate industrial hazardous waste – legally – because once this hazardous waste is added to the fertilizer manufacturing process it is classified as a “product”; therefore, no longer is the label “hazardous waste” associated with it. Then, the fertilizer is spread onto soil that food crops are grown, as well as crops that are raised for animal feed. Food crops grown in the polluted soil now contain elements of the toxic waste, and this has been proven to include, but not limited to the following heavy metal toxins: cadmium, arsenic, lead, barium, beryllium, chromium, dioxin, furan. NOTE: An Internet search on each of the aforementioned contaminants will show their harmful effects on humans. Also, animals that are fed from crops grown in soil containing these toxic wastes have shown to contain these same contaminants in their meat, milk, etc. Not only do these practices destroy beneficial soil microbes needed for plant growth and human health, they pollute the soil and end up leaching into our lakes, streams, and rivers to continue the destructive environmental contamination. According to Zane Gard , MD , of Beaverton , Oregon , “Bio-accumulation (a buildup in the body of foreign substances) seriously compromises physiological and psychological health. Over the last ten years, hundreds of studies have demonstrated the dangers to physical health from toxic bio-accumulation.” “A body with a healthy immune system, efficient organs of elimination and detoxification, and a sound circulatory and nervous system, can handle a great deal of toxicity”, states Leon Chaitow, ND, DO, of London, England. “But if they have been damaged from chronic exposure to environmental pollutants, restoring these functions, organs, and systems can be accomplished only through detoxification therapies – which include fasting, chelation, nutritional, herbal, and homeopathic methods – that accelerate the body’s own natural cleansing processes.” Reference: “Fateful Harvest” ~ by Duff Wilson The Role of Glutathione (GSH)
Glutathione is a very important detoxifying agent, enabling the body to get rid of undesirable toxins and pollutants. It forms a soluble compound with the toxin that can then be excreted through the urine or the gut. The liver and kidneys contain high levels of glutathione as they have the greatest exposure to toxins. The lungs are also rich in glutathione partly for the same reason. Many cancer-producing chemicals, heavy metals, drug metabolites, etc., are disposed of in this way. Glutathione is a small molecule found in almost every cell. It cannot enter most cells directly and, therefore, must be made inside the cell from its three constituent amino acids: glycine, glutamate, and cysteine. The rate at which glutathione can be made depends on the availability of cysteine, which is relatively scarce in foodstuffs. Furthermore, the cysteine molecule has a sulfur-containing portion, which gives the whole glutathione molecule its “biochemical activity”, i.e., its ability to carry out its vitally important functions. Glutathione is the major antioxidant produced by the cell, protecting it from “free radicals” (oxygen radicals”, “oxyradicals”). These highly reactive substances, if left unchecked, will damage or destroy key cell components (e.g., membranes, DNA) in microseconds. Oxyradicals are generated in the many thousand mitochondria located inside each cell, where nutrients like glucose are burnt, using oxygen to make energy. Mitochondria can be thought of as the batteries that provide the power for the cells to operate. Oxyradicals also come from pollutants, from UV radiation and other sources. In addition, Glutathione recycles other well-known antioxidants, such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E, keeping them in the active state. Glutathione plays a crucial role in maintaining a normal balance between oxidation and anti-oxidation. This, in turn, regulates many of the cell’s vital functions, such as the synthesis and repair of DNA, the synthesis of proteins and the activation and regulation of enzymes. Glutathione is required in many of the intricate steps needed to carry out an immune response. For example, it is needed for the lymphocytes to multiply in order to develop a strong immune response, and for “killer” lymphocytes to be able to kill undesirable cells, such as cancer cells or virally infected cells. The importance of glutathione cannot be overstated. It has multiple roles as indicated and, indeed, as one examines each system or organ more closely, the necessity for glutathione becomes increasingly evident. Glutathione values decline with age and higher values in older people are seen to correlate with better health – underscoring the importance of this remarkable substance for maintaining a healthy, well-functioning body. Glutathione is a small protein that is produced naturally in the body and is its essential health AID : A ntioxidant, I mmune Booster, and D etoxifier. Without glutathione the body’s cells would disintegrate from unrestrained oxidation, the body would have little resistance to bacteria, viruses and cancer, and the liver would shrivel up from the eventual accumulation of toxins. Simply put, your life depends on glutathione, so the more you have, the stronger your immune system will be. Reference: Lomaestro B. The gentle heat of far infrared helps detoxify the body, promotes relaxation, and improves circulation. The vibrational energy of far infrared light is unlike that of the heat energy we use, as in cooking. Think of it as the difference between leaning over a pot of boiling water and standing outside in the sunlight. Steam from boiling water will burn the skin, but it does not heat the internal organs. Sunlight heats us in a profound way, because it contains penetrating far infrared rays as well as the full range of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum. At the molecular level, FIR (far infrared) exerts strong rotational and vibrational effects that are either biologically benign, or, in certain processes, biologically beneficial. This healing ability stands in contrast to the damaging effects of short wavelengths, such as X-rays or gamma rays. In healthcare, these effects are being harnessed to promote healing. Far Infrared light penetrates beyond the skin level and is absorbed efficiently by cells below, whereas visible light is mostly bounced off the skin surface . . . Far Infrared can penetrate up to about 1 ½ inches, exciting the vibrational energy of molecules and resonating with cellular frequencies. Within the magnetic spectrum, while some rays, such as light rays, can be seen by the unaided human eye, most are totally invisible to us. Far Infrared Rays are well beyond the ability of the naked eye to see, plus, we cannot exactly perceive the deep heating effects of FIR, because our body’s ability to sense heat is mainly at the skin surface level. Nonetheless, the effects of FIR rays promote bioprocesses, such as increased metabolism and blood circulation, and can gently and delightfully elevate the body’s temperature - helping to expand capillaries which stimulate blood circulation. This increases the body’s energy reserve, and accelerates the metabolic exchange between the blood and body tissue. It also reduces abnormalities in the nervous system and helps the autonomous system function properly. Here is a summary of the mechanisms and benefits of Far Infrared Therapy: 1) Far Infrared helps detoxify the environmentally ill - bringing about significant detoxification of heavy metals, including mercury and other environmental pollutants. 2) Far Infrared promotes Chinese meridian regulation, and excites the vibrational energy of the molecules and resonates with cellular frequencies, thus, promoting the proper flow of energy, or “chi” throughout the body. 3) Far Infrared promotes a more rapid recovery from athletic injury or trauma. It helps rebuild injured tissues by having a positive effect on the fibroblasts (connective tissue cells necessary for the repair of injury). Furthermore, it increases growth of cells, DNA synthesis, and protein synthesis – all necessary during tissue repair. 4) Far Infrared promotes the killing of many pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. It modulates the immune system by increasing production of cytokines (special immune cells that play an important role in disease control). It promotes the production of the body’s own, biologically safe, cytokine cells without fear of external contamination and excessive cost. It also coordinates the immune system against mutated cells. Mutated cells are genetic variants that occur randomly, or because of environmental changes, and they are usually not favorable to the survival of the person in whom they occur.
AutoIntoxification
We believe that toxicity is the common denominator of most diseases, illness, metabolic and nutritional imbalances, obesity, weight and bio-energy problems experienced by the human family. We also believe that the body can heal itself, if provided with the opportunity to do so, and we do not believe in magical cures, temporary relief and a suppression of symptoms. We believe in natural principles and one of these principles is known as “The Law of the Innate” ~ which is a natural healing force that our Creator has put in each of our bodies. Unfortunately, this law is not taught in medical schools, nor are you told about it on CNN news, etc., because it does not sell any patented medicines. One of the common denominators for all illness, disease, symptoms and conditions that affect our health is toxicity – or more properly termed, AutoIntoxification. What is AutoIntoxification? It is the daily accumulation over a lifetime of endogenous and morbific material that has not been eliminated from the body completely or efficiently. AutoIntoxification, if not corrected, will eventually interfere with the symbiosis, and it is directly related to most of our bodily symptoms. Proper nutrition at the cellular level is impossible in a toxic body. While it is true that air and water pollution, and our environment, is a major contribution to the buildup of toxins in our bodies, and we are the biggest destroyers of ourselves with our own forks, knives and spoons. Most Americans overload their livers and digestive tracts with four to five times the amount of food that is impossible to efficiently and properly digest and assimilate, distribute and eliminate. Overeating is our nation’s greatest health hazard. We all do it. It is socially acceptable. We have done it for so long, that it sounds strange when someone attempts to address the issue. Most doctors find it easier to write a prescription that will drug the symptoms rather than deal with the real issue. The net result is most doctors and paramedics are earning a good living on our ignorances and indulgences. If a lifetime of over-stuffing is not enough to produce a toxic internal environment, which we believe sets us up and is at the cause of most disease, then the quality of our food will do the same. So, if it is not the quantity – it’s the quality. The quality of the cells in the body are dependent on the quality of the food that is put into the body on a daily basis. Our Creator designed us to live very healthy, productive, and abundant lives for 120 years (Genesis 6:3, John 10:10 ). Unfortunately, most of us are our own worst enemies – we kill ourselves, we create our own diseases, we live so far removed from nature and the natural design and intent of our Creator, that it is truly amazing and a travesty. Our bodies 200 bones and 600 muscles and corresponding bodily systems were not designed to sit in stuffy offices, ride in automobiles, and sit in front of mindless television sets. We were designed for vigorous daily physical activity, but few of us get that type of activity. This is also another cause for toxins to build up in our bodies. We are slowly poisoning ourselves without even realizing it – and that is exactly what AutoIntoxification is – the slow poisoning of our internal terrain at the cellular level. We have been slowly brainwashed and conditioned that we do not know what real food is anymore; in fact, the role of real food with food-less foods have reversed themselves over the last few generations, and much of the food that is eaten today is indeed “food-less, nutrition-less, artificial junque”. We have been led to believe that “Things go better with Coke.” This conditioning has left us for the vultures, and we aren’t getting the point! When we use the term “detoxification”, most people think that means alcohol, tobacco, and/or drugs – not realizing that the cells of our bodies can become equally as toxic from our environment, foods, and water. Ours is the first generation in the history of the world that has been brought up from birth exposed and indulging in “junque” foods. They have become so entrenched in our psyche that even 3-year olds are addicted. When we use the term “junque foods” most people think this means pretzels, candy, potato chips, Coca Cola, etc., not realizing that most of what is being consumed today can be considered “junque food”. What is considered “junque food”? It is anything we put into our bodies that does not conform with its original design (such as fresh, raw vegetables, fresh fruits, nuts and seeds) and these nutrition-less foods create toxicity just like excess eating, alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Creating A Better You
Digestive system and colon health have reached an all time low in the United States . Diseases of the digestive tract are on the rise. In 1993, colon-rectal cancer was the #1 disease among men and women. Modern lifestyle has taken its toll on our digestive/ elimination organs. Refined, processed, low fiber foods, animal fats, lack of exercise and an ever increasing level of stress all contribute to our current gastro-intestinal health crisis. The Merck Manual, the medical dictionary’s standard text for the diagnosis and treatment of disease tells us that colon degeneration is on the upswing. The incidence of diverticulosis has increased dramatically over the last 40 years. It states that in 1950 only 10% of adults over the age of 45 had this disease; in 1955 it was 15%; in 1872 it had risen to 30%, and in 1993 almost 50% of American adults have herniation of the large intestine. Diverticula’s are secular herniations that protrude through the wall of the colon. These “bowel pockets” are almost always symptomatic (you cannot feel them), and they are caused by a sluggish, constipated bowel. These pockets fill with old fecal matter that can be reabsorbed back into the bloodstream. This can infect the entire body, causing all types of toxicity and reactions. A sluggish bowel can retain pounds of old, toxic and poisonous fecal matter. Many times the real cause behind sickness and disease is the retention and reabsorption of this toxic waste. The frequency at which a normal, healthy person with a well-functioning digestive system and colon should have a bowel movement has been a great misconception among the public, as well as most medical professionals. For years doctors have thought that anywhere between one bowel movement per day to one every other day was normal, and some have even told their patients that once or twice per week was not abnormal! This is absolutely insane, and extremely unhealthy. In the examination of primitive people we found that they experienced an average of 2 to 3 bowel movements per day. This was due to the fact that they ate much better, got more exercise, and had less stress than we do. What we have learned is that it is normal to have one bowel movement a day for each meal that is eaten – if you eat three meals, then you should have three bowel movements. Dr. John Christopher taught us that, “Supreme cleanliness is the first step towards a healthy body. Any accumulation of waste within us will retard our health and slow down the recovery time from ailments. You cannot talk about wholistic health without talking about “internal cleansing.” The first step in anyone’s health program should be stimulating, cleaning and toning all the elimination organs, and the bowel is the best place to begin. HealthStyles4URx is proud to offer the most effective internal cleansing and detoxification formulas on the market today. We have a special Cleansing and Detoxification Kit that cleanses the Liver, Kidneys, Lymph System, Bowel, Blood, and Parasites.
