Creating A Better You

Stress is a killer! Stress and anxiety are at the root of most physical and emotional problems. Reduce your stress TODAY for positive changes.

Stress is a big problem when trying to lose weight. When the body becomes stressed, there is an instinctive response called the "fight or flight" syndrome. This is an instinctive survival technique. When this happens, a hormone called cortisol is introduced into the body. Cortisol breaks down the immune system, feeds illness and disease, but also maintains fat cells.

With the Stress Releaser CD, you will reduce and manage your stress levels in order to have optimum emotional and physical responses. Some of the benefits are:
  • remain calm and focused in all situations
  • create the desire to perform a weight-loss regimen
  • immune system boosting for optimum performance to be healthy
  • reduce fat cells from the body
  • positive attitude
  • access more creativity with a clear mind

Stressful situations can be continual and unavoidable. Begin NOW to armor yourself against these daily stresses and live a more positive and healthy life. The choice is yours and the answer has never been easier. With only 20 minutes a day, sitting comfortably while listening to our Stress Releaser audio system you will make this change . . . the natural, safe and effective way.

Letting Go of the Past

Please read the following information very carefully. It is crucially important for all of us to know “where we are”, “why we are where we are”, “how did we get there?”, and “what do we have to do to move on in a positive and focused manner?” You'll be excited to know that focusing on the past is really hurting you! Perhaps you already know and realize this – and maybe you don’t. However, in order to release yourself from the past you must become consciously aware of this simple fact. Our subconscious mind focuses on whatever we send it, and whatever we focus on, we get more of the same. Imagine focusing on a beautiful sunset and a field of grass and wild flowers, warm sunshine and being peacefully alone. When you focus on what creates good feelings, you get more good feelings. But . . . when we focus on the pain and suffering associated to our past, we get more of what we don't want. You will find out how to achieve more of those "good feelings" by the time you finish reading this.

So, give me your attention for just a moment, please. Right now, where are you? I am not referring to your home, or in your chair, in a room – but IN TIME – where are you? That's right. You are in the present time! Now, take a moment and try to literally go back into the past . . . go ahead, I will wait for you.

. . . . . Unless you're a time traveler, you cannot do it, can you? But, that is what most of us do in our thoughts and our frame of mind – we find ourselves living in the past. It serves no purpose, and now is the time to stop!!!

You see, we only have “NOW”, and when we think about the past we are continually growing and perpetuating the problems of the past. Here is a great tip to keep in mind ~ the p-a-s-t has p-a-s-s-e-d. It's over and there is no reason to allow it to bother and hinder you any longer. Have you ever wondered how so many people who have suffered incredible pain, suffering – both mentally and physically - and horrific events in their lives, and have still moved on – productively and peacefully? They did it by releasing the past and living in the present. And now you can too.

Knowing the great importance of focusing on what is available to us, in the present moment, Tom Nicoli, PhD, has created a wonderful audio CD to help a person remove the emotional chains of the past. You deserve to allow yourself the freedom of change. “Letting Go of the Past” is the first step in releasing yourself from the painful, negative, annoying and difficult thoughts that seem to almost automatically creep into your mind. Then it helps you to begin to create more positive, happy and pleasurable thoughts. Leave the past behind where it belongs and begin living in the moment.

Subliminal Suggestions for Positive Reinforcement

A subliminal message is a signal or message designed to pass below (sub) the normal limits of perception (conscious). The human mind can pick out and learn from information that is not consciously observed. Daily we have experiences when we hear, see and feel information without any conscious awareness or involvement. Remember playing a game or watching a television show and you somehow just seemed to know the answer but never remembered learning that information? It has often been argued that subliminal suggestions are potentially more powerful than ordinary suggestions. For example: In 1957, a Ft. Lee, New Jersey, Drive-In Theater flashed the words “DRINK COLA COLA” and “EAT POPCORN”, for 1/3000th of a second - every 5 seconds - over Kim Novak's sensuous face, and also throughout the movie, during a 6-week run of the film “Picnic”. The subliminal message was the brainchild of New York market researcher, James Vicary, who subsequently boasted that Coke sales in the lobby increased 58% and that popcorn sales rose 18%.

Southing Sounds CD

With his years of experience as a professional musician coupled with his expertise in hypnosis, Tom Nicoli has created a new audio system for meditation, self-hypnosis, or just to play in the background for a soothing and comfortable environment. When we sit quietly, it can be difficult to stop all of those nagging thoughts and relax comfortably. The Soothing Sounds audio system allows the mind to relax and let go of conscious thought.

What is Hypnosis and How Does It Work?

Understand that the process of hypnosis is the same as guided imagery or visualization – the same techniques athletes and successful achievers use in many areas of life.
We have all been in a hypnotic state; in fact most of us visit this state every day.

  • Have you ever been driving and all of a sudden your exit is right there?
  • Have you ever been so focused on a movie or a television program, or engrossed in a good book, that you didn't hear someone calling your name?
  • Have you ever been so deep in thought that you almost had to be shaken out of it?
  • Or, have you ever daydreamed?
Of course, we all do things like this on a daily basis. This is what it is like being hypnotized. When in hypnosis, you can hear everything going on around you, you can hear all of the suggestions you're being given and many times people say, "I don't think I was hypnotized." When asked “why”, the reply is usually, "Because I heard everything you said." This is one of the misconceptions of hypnosis. The subconscious mind then accepts these suggestions and creates the behavior changes or body changes in order to achieve the given suggestions. When in hypnotic trance, the subconscious mind is 88% more alert than in a conscious state.

Everyone knows there have been things we either wanted to do and couldn't, or didn't want to do, but did anyway. That's because our desires are conscious thoughts, while our behaviors are created and motivated at a subconscious level. The simple process of hypnosis is the natural, safe and expedient way for behavior modification.

When in hypnosis, you can bring yourself out whenever you truly desire to. People have asked, "What happens if the hypnotist walks away, or something happens to him/her and I am still in a hypnotic state?" Don't worry . . . you will either gradually go deeper and then wake up, or simply begin to rise out of the hypnotic state to a fully conscious state. There are various definitions for hypnosis, though they all mean the same thing. Simply put, hypnosis can be explained this way. When a person is in a relaxed state, the conscious mind is able to be bypassed in order to directly make suggestions to the subconscious mind. That's basically it. That's all you need to understand in order to grasp the idea. The subconscious mind then accepts these suggestions and creates the behavior changes or body changes in order to achieve the given suggestions. When in hypnotic trance, the subconscious mind is 88% more alert than in a conscious state.

Belief ~ Desire ~ Expectancy

The most important factor regarding the application of hypnosis is a combination of three things – Belief, Desire and Expectancy. You must Believe it will work . . . have a genuine Desire for it to work . . . Expect that it will work. If these three factors are in place, then you are willing and open to suggestion.

Some changes require a different approach, understanding and strategy but can all be achieved through hypnosis. We are all victims of habit. Most of us hardly ever recognize our positive habits, like exercise or a healthy diet, for we look at those as “expected”. We do, however, focus on all of our negative habits, like overeating and smoking. There are two things to understand – habits are a conditioned response in the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind does not know the difference between a "good" habit, or a "bad" habit. The subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality or imagination.

If you do something often enough, the subconscious mind begins to believe that this behavior pattern is what you want and, therefore, stores it for you and makes it part of your natural behavior.

Then, no matter how much you try to consciously change that behavior pattern (using what we know as "will power") your subconscious mind wins the mental tug of war and you return to that "stored" behavior pattern. This is why "will power" can become a downfall, because it will not work for the vast majority of people in a permanent, or even sometimes, short-term period. The only way to effectively and permanently make a true change in your behavior pattern is to change the remembered pattern in the subconscious mind.

There are four levels of brain wave activity, Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta. The top level, Beta, is complete consciousness and at the deepest level. Delta, is deep unconscious sleep. The middle two levels, Alpha and Theta are simply more relaxed states than total consciousness, but they are above deep sleep. This is what is referred to as the hypnotic state of mind – simply being relaxed. Alpha is a daydream, such as when you drive up the highway and drift off a bit, and Theta is when you are in a dream state, above deep sleep. The light relaxed state of Alpha is all that is necessary to achieve in order to make behavior changes. This is why most people do not think they are "hypnotized" because they have been misled as to what hypnosis really is.

You are not sure, but would like to know if hypnosis will work for you?

The Ultimate Weight Loss Program

Lose The Things You Don’t Want . . .
~ Stress, Fatigue, Weight, Inches ~
Gain The Things You Really Want . . .
~ Increased Energy, Stamina, Younger Looks, Freedom ~

“Discipline is choosing between what you want now . . . and what you want the most.”

Give Me 25 Minutes a Day with the Ultimate Weight Loss Program and You Will Lose The Weight You Want and Keep It Off … Guaranteed! Or, I Will Buy The Program Back From You! You have absolutely nothing to lose – except the weight. This is a 5-CD program that is easy-to-implement and utilize. . . . as seen on Dateline NBC

Dr. Tom Nicoli, Certified Hypnotherapist

I want you to imagine right now the body that you have always envisioned having - and that's a thin one. But, what would being thin mean to you? How about two words: “Personal Freedom?” Because when you will not have "weight issues" to focus on anymore, you will be free of the burden that is consuming your life – mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Can you see yourself right now being the new person that's just begging and screaming to “get out”? Can you see yourself FREE of the pain of carrying those extra pounds . . . FREE to go and do what you want . . . FREE to wear the clothes you like and NEVER again feel embarrassed by the way you look . . . FREE to do the fun and healthy activities that you have always wanted to do - but were afraid, or prevented from doing, because of that dreadful weight that you were carrying around with you?

But most of all . . . can you see yourself walking into a room and having friends and family astounded at how wonderful you look? And when you look good - don't you feel much better about yourself? Of course, you do – we all do.

The program has only a ONE-TIME cost, and you can use the system that all our clients have successfully used - in the privacy of your home. It will guide you into a peaceful, relaxed, and enjoyable relaxation as your subconscious mind receives continuous, flowing positive suggestions for effective weight loss, and more!
This program will help you:
  • Gain a healthy attitude about yourself, and prompt you to take positive action!
  • Improve your self-esteem, and achieve personal confidence in yourself!
  • Sleep better and feel happier!
  • Stop ”beating yourself up”, and be focused in accomplishing every day tasks and goals!
  • Remove your internal debate about endless dieting and exercise regimens!

And to begin this journey in weight loss all you have to do is give yourself 25 minutes a day!

You have probably seen the mainstream benefits hypnosis delivers on the Jane Pauley Show, or read about it in Newsweek, Harvard U, or Oprah's “O Magazine”. Also, numerous clinical studies have proven that hypnosis is probably one of the most effective ways to find and release conflicts, depression, blocks, and illness. If you're self-motivated and want to lose weight the right way – be happier, enjoy inner peace and personal freedom, and effectively take control of your life – or - stop smoking, make more money, find a lost object, take strokes off your golf game . . . then you may want to consider hypnosis.

Now, it is very important for you to understand that everything we experience – EVERYTHING - is a result of how we perceive and filter it in our mind. We choose our reality, our thoughts and our feelings. When you feel you no longer have a choice about how you think or feel, you are experiencing a blockage that may be created by an underlying emotional conflict. Hypnosis can find and release the blockage, allowing you to have the freedom to think clearly, and free your mind, which will allow you to feel the way you want to feel and allow you to create a new you!

How Does Hypnosis Really Work?

According to Dr. Karen Olness, Professor at Case Western School of Medicine, "Hypnosis works by harnessing your imagination." Whether you realize it or not, we are in the state of mind, referred to as “hypnotic”, all throughout our day. The conscious mind acts as our own personal "gate keeper." It is a filtering system that has no choice but to critique, judge, accept or reject information that goes into our long-term memory - or subconscious - mind. The subconscious is where we have habitual behaviors and our imagination.

When you get the same exposure, and use repetition with specific information that's put into your unconscious mind - which acts like a hard-drive on a computer - you will then turn your thoughts into positive actions. Download new programming into that unconscious "gatekeeper of yours" and hypnosis will give you a golden opportunity to get rid of negative thoughts … and instead provide a positive healthy alternative to reaching your desired goals.

Losing Weight Easily, Effectively, and Finally Keeping It Off!

In one clinical study, psychologists placed 109 overweight individuals on a medically supervised weight-loss program. Some of the people were given regular hypnosis - while others were not. After nine weeks, both the focus groups had lost about the same amount of weight . . . but here's the part that should interest you: At 8-month and 2-year intervals, the participants who received hypnosis had lost significant additional weight – or they had held their original weight loss better – while the other group did not maintain their weight loss. This is why people from all walks of life, from many different countries, have used this type of hypnosis so effectively and productively. You see, it is one thing to lose weight – but it is an entirely different thing to keep it off.

That is exactly what you will accomplish when you utilize the Ultimate Weight Loss Program. But, do you want more proof? Then read what some of our clients have to say:

"My name is Jennifer, and I'm a 31-year-old mother of four. I have been struggling with diet pills and programs of weigh loss for years. Then, I started listening to your weight loss CDS and your exercise booster a few weeks ago. First of all, I should probably tell you that I'm a HUGE couch potato. When I was done working for the day I would sit and watch TV, and on my weekends, I just laid around and relaxed all day. NOT ANYMORE!! I woke up after a week on the program and just decided to run.... I sorta felt like Forest Gump. (I haven't run since I was 14 years old). I have run and walked every day since . . . AND I FEEL GREAT! I also notice a craving for healthy food. I eat salads and fruits more now than I ever have before. I lost a total of 7 inches and 8 pounds! THANK YOU!! I have 34 more pounds to go to reach my goal. I think I can do it by mid-summer." ~ Jennifer

"About a week ago I got your weight loss 5-CD set and I have to say this is weird, yet also so awesome! My appetite has REALLY been tamed and my desire for eating more than an average portion has ALSO been tamed. I feel full or satisfied much faster now during a meal, and I don't CRAVE junk food between meals. It has only been a week of listening to your weight loss CD set but I really feel more "in control" than ever – food-wise - and I notice a higher level of happiness and energy! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I have dropped 5 lbs already! This is something I surely can't explain except to say. Thank you . . . sincerely thank you . . . and I really mean that! " ~ Bill from Indiana

How To Know When You Are In A Hypnotic Trance

Clients always wonder if they can truly be hypnotized. And I usually ask them the same question I'm going to ask you. Do you recall . . .

  • Driving home from somewhere and remember no details of the trip? And then wonder, "Wow, how did I get here?"
  • Being so caught up in watching a movie that transforms you by its story and characters that you did not notice what was going on around you?
  • Being so involved with work on your computer, etc., that hours flew by and you didn't even realize it?

Well, guess what? You were in a hypnotic state. It is that simple and explanatory, because you alone will be reprogramming your subconscious to eliminate those bad, destructive eating habits, and that will allow you to get off the endless, wasteful cycle of spending far too much time and money on different fad diets that only focus on the body – when the actual secret to receiving real, ever-lasting results is to focus on your mind!

You take care of your family's needs, don't you? Now is the time to start taking care of your own needs! Once you receive the Ultimate Weight Loss Program, inform your spouse and family that you are embarking on your own personal "LifeStyles" journey. Let them know the importance and significance this represents for you. It is your life – begin living it well!
All you need to do is sit comfortably and undisturbed for only 25 minutes a day - with a pair of headphones on - and drift off to a deep relaxation. Do nothing more during that time. That's it! Let your subconscious do all the work and you will see how remarkably your behavior towards exercise and dieting changes automatically. You will accomplish this without self-help meetings to attend, taking pills, or fad diet plans.

What do you think it would cost right now for you to be able to take control of your life and achieve the weight loss, good health and personal freedom that you desire and truly deserve? Forget about the hundred$ – and perhaps thousand$ – of dollar$ you have spent in the past, trying this and that, etc., and never accomplishing the results you were looking for – that is history! You cannot change what has occurred in the past, but you certainly can affect what happens from this day forward! The good news is that you do not have to spend a small fortune (as you may have already done in the past) to get the results you want and need. You only have to commit to a goal and then take the necessary action. HealthStyles4URx has designed a system of weight management that we refer to as “The Weight Is Over”. We begin at the grassroots of the problem and help you build upward – to create the proper lifestyle required for serious personal achievement – whether it is weight loss or other issues you want to address. Our system is not single-faceted; i.e., weight loss is NOT the ONLY benefit to be obtained.

Managing Stress = Losing and Managing Weight

Manage Stress Whenever Possible

It probably comes as no surprise that the most effective stress-management technique is to simply avoid all those stressful situations in the first place. That way, you have no exposure to stress. Obviously, the goal of avoiding all stressful situations is unrealistic, but with proper planning, it may be possible to avoid some of them – or at least plan effective strategies for dealing with the situations that cause you the most stress.

Manage Stress As Effectively As You Can
Obviously, if you cannot avoid stress, then you must manage stress as effectively as possible. One of the most effective “management techniques” is Qi Gong, or similar meditative exercise. While getting in touch with your “inner self,” it is important to remember that managing stress is a very individualized concept, and a technique that reduces stress for one person, may very well increase it for another.

As an example, one thing that causes me a great deal of stress is sitting in rush-hour traffic. My personal strategy to avoid this source of stress is to make sure I stay ahead of the traffic by leaving the house as early as possible in the morning, then leaving the office as early as possible in the evening. Of course, with two small children at home, it is often impossible to leave the house as early as planned, nor does the pile of work on my desk always allow me to leave the office as early as I wish. On those days, when my “first-line stress avoidance strategy” of leaving early fails, I know I’ll be sitting in traffic, and I know I will need to employ my backup plan, which is to listen to a book on tape. The book on tape allows me to avoid a personal source of stress because it enables me either to learn something new, or to lose myself in a story – instead of fuming and stewing my way through a time-wasting traffic jam.

It is important to understand that each person will have a different strategy for avoiding their own personal stressors. The key is to make those positive lifestyle changes that will have the greatest benefit in your life.

The GOOD SENSE Program

Sleep

Yes, you say, it makes perfect sense that you need to spend enough time in bed when you’re stressed; unfortunately, that stress also throws a great big monkey wrench into your normal sleep patterns. Getting more sleep, of course, can be a lot easier said than done, so the experts at the National Sleep Foundation recommend a few simple steps, like the ones listed below, for helping to get a person back on track to the eight hours most of us need each night: Establish a regular bedtime and a regular wake-up time – and stick to them for one week, even on the weekends (no matter how hard it is for the first few days). Sleep researchers tell us that within a week our body clocks will reset themselves to the new schedule.

Do something calming in the hour or so before bedtime – such as relaxing with a book and a warm cup of chamomile tea, doing a crossword puzzle, or whatever else provides you with a few moments of peaceful reflection. Avoid exercise within three hours of bedtime. For most people, exercising after work or even right after dinner (between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM) is probably okay (assuming bedtime will be three to four hours later), because there is still sufficient time for the body to calm down and return to resting levels.

Exercise

Like getting enough sleep during stressful periods, getting enough exercise is another one of those no-brainers – but few of us follow through on what we know we should be doing. Aside from the feel-good, mind-clearing effects of exercise, however, we have the obvious general health benefits for the heart and muscles, and also the general anti-stress benefits.
The high-stress/low-sleep/no-exercise cycle is a vicious one – but breaking it, even by doing simple exercises several days a week, can yield dramatic benefits. The key point here is that you don’t need to become an Ironman triathlete or start training for a marathon. A simple game of racquetball, a walk around the block, or a quick circuit of sit-ups and push-ups before you head out the door to work will go a long way. Even light physical activity in small, manageable doses will trigger a cascade of stress-busting benefits.

Review the list below to jump-start your thinking about ways to sneak small increments of exercise into your daily routine:

  • At the mall or grocery store, add a few hundred yards of walking to your daily activity tally by parking in the middle or back of the parking lot instead of at the front…
  • If you use public transportation, try riding your bike to the train station or bus stop, or park your car a few blocks away and walk the rest of the way to catch your ride…
  • At the airport, be a rebel and take the stairs instead of the escalator (be sure to smile at the people on the escalator; you’ll feel better just doing that)…
  • Put a basket on the front of your bicycle. You might look like Mary Poppins, but now you can use the bike to run short errands to the store…
  • Instead of having a neighborhood child (or your own children) do your exercise for you, get out there yourself to mow the lawn, sweep the steps, rake the leaves, and shovel the driveway…

Nutrition

What is the first thing many of us do when the stress starts to pile up? We pile up our plates – and we usually do it with junk foods. Nothing stimulates our cravings for sugar, salt, and fat like a stressful event, but attempting to “eat your way out” is not the right approach.

Breakfast
First of all, eat breakfast! Remember your mom telling you how breakfast was the most important meal of the day? Breakfast, like all your meals and snacks throughout the day, should be a blend of carbohydrates and protein, with a little bit of fat thrown in. A good rule of thumb is to compose each meal or snack by “fists.”

Here’s how it works: Each meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) is made up of one fist-sized helping of carbohydrates (pasta, bread, cereal), one fist-sized helping of protein (meat, poultry, fish, tofu), and another fist or two of fruits/vegetables (an apple, a banana, a side salad). Each snack (one each between breakfast and lunch, between lunch and dinner, and between dinner and bedtime) should be built the same way, but the total size of a snack should be no larger than one fist.

Using this simple “fist” method does a few important things for your diet. Eating this way also forces you to consume more fruits and vegetables, something the National Cancer Institute has been telling us to do for a long time (they recommend a minimum of five daily servings of fruits and vegetables). Fruits and veggies are also rich in the vitamins and minerals our bodies need at higher levels during stressful times.

Supplementation
Many of us simply do not have the ability, time, or inclination to live the “perfect” anti-stress lifestyle – and in those situations, supplements play a more prominent role. After doing what you can in terms of stress avoidance/management, getting adequate amounts of sleep and exercise, and eating a balanced diet, then you should turn your attention to using dietary supplements.

Supplementation Plan – Level I

Step 1
Take a comprehensive multi-vitamin / multi-mineral supplement. In particular, the supplement you choose should provide adequate amounts of the most important anti-stress nutrients that are needed at increased levels during periods of high stress: Vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, and the B-complex vitamins. Your multi-vitamin/multi-mineral supplement will provide the foundation of your supplement regimen, so the more comprehensive it is - providing the full range of essential nutrients - the better it is for you.
The best type of total nutritional supplementation is a Liquid Nutritional product, because a perfectly balanced, foundational health and nutrition supplement in a liquid format is 98% absorbable by the body. And, it is what your body absorbs that counts!

Supplementation Plan – Level II

The next two steps in the supplementation regimen should be viewed as a “temporary control point” designed to rebalance the stress response.

Step 2
Consider adding “reinforcement supplements” against stress in the form of adaptogens. Lifestyle changes including stress management, exercise, nutrition, and supplementation are the first steps to help you live a more stress-free life.

Step 3
Use relaxation and calming supplements to fight occasional sleeplessness and stress. In some cases, stress can get the best of us. In these situations, you’ll still be using each of the preceding steps in the GOODSENSE Program.

Evaluation
It is important to keep in mind that neither one’s stress levels nor the body’s response to stress is a constant. Instead, there will be periods in each of our lives when we experience more stress or less stress – just as there will be times when we feel as if we can “withstand” stress better than other times. Accordingly, the last step in the GOOD SENSE Program – evaluation – reminds us that we need to alter our exercise patterns, nutrient intake, and supplementation regimen according to our exposure to stress. For example, regular exercise and a balanced diet are always going to be important, but they become even more so during stressful times. Skipping breakfast during a period of low stress isn’t ideal, but it isn’t going to kill you when done on an occasional basis. Skip that balanced breakfast during a high-stress period, however, and you could be setting yourself up for fluctuating blood-sugar levels, surges in appetite, and feelings of fatigue – each of which will be even more pronounced because of your high stress profile.
