HealthStyles4URx promotes the concept of “Integrated Health Care” ~ the synthesis of complementary and alternative healthcare therapies with conventional healthcare. Today, more and more people are less likely to accept unquestioningly the conventional interventions their healthcare providers may advise. Rather, they want to know all their options and be involved in the decisions that affect their health. Our belief is that prevention is the key to good health and longevity, and the concept of wellness includes all aspects of a healthy lifestyle ~ the belief that healthy individuals are more productive and efficient in our society. Furthermore, we believe in the Triad of Health ~ a balance of the Physical, Mental, and Emotional aspects of health and well-being ~ which encompasses what we refer to as the “Cornerstones of Health”. This triad of elements helps create a consciousness and awareness in individuals of the need to accept self-responsibility and become self-empowered in caring for the state of health of themselves and their loved ones.
Toxicity is of great concern to us as we are well underway into the new millennium. There are numerous new and very powerful chemicals that pollute the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. Many illnesses that permeate our society are directly related to improper digestion of food, and stored waste matter. It has been said that death begins in the colon, and there is more than adequate evidence to substantiate this (see the articles entitled “Death Begins In The Colon” and “The Seven Stages of Disease”). Toxins are substances that irritate the body, undermine our health, and cause degeneration of body tissues. Toxicity impairs our well-being by causing arthritis, asthenia, allergies, cancer, coughs, headaches, skin problems, gastrointestinal problems, etc., and it generally lowers our immunity and the ability to ward off diseases of all types. Toxicity takes place when we take in more than the body can use and eliminate, resulting in a build-up in organs of the body, such as the liver. Through a Cleansing & Detoxification regimen we can enable our bodies to clear and filter toxins and wastes. HealthStyles4URx offers a powerline program of cleansing and detoxification products, as well as many other health and wellness products, to greatly reduce the toxic chemicals that invade our lives on a daily basis, and improve one’s quality of life, In addition, we offer an Internet Marketing Affiliate (IMA) program that enables any entrepreneur to build and maintain a solid income. We have introduced a concept called “Integrated Marketing Solutions”, which provides our Affiliates with access to a number of industries that allows a person the freedom to work in several markets at the same time. Each individual has the flexibility to work with as many - or as few – as they choose. We have a proven method of marketing that brings highly qualified customers and prospects to the table who are looking for this type of business and income-generating opportunity. In his book, Trends 2000, Gerald Celente traces the declining quality of our Air, Food, Water, and the resulting assault on the immune systems of the general public and society. The serious impact on individual health and its deleterious effects are undisputed. Environmental sensitivity, chronic illness, degenerative diseases, stress and fatigue are unprecedented, and are reaching epidemic proportions – which present healthcare challenges that our traditional system of medical care is ill-prepared to address, or handle. At the same time, healthcare “cost-containment practices” leave little or no time for physicians to delve beneath the “symptoms” of disease and address the underlying causes – even if such an approach was within the scope of conventional medical practices. Intersect these factors with the aging factor of the Baby Boomers, and today’s healthcare complaints are only the tiny tip of the growing iceberg. The 76 million baby boomers – representing the largest generation in U.S. history – will catapult this movement forward into the 21st Century, as they have others that pertain to the quality of life. This group is now maturing and entering midlife, where health issues are becoming foremost and paramount. Intensifying the normal experience of aging are environmental and daily stress factors that contribute to debilitating degrees of chronic fatigue and other symptoms whose origins are often completely “mysterious”. At the same time, many of them are caring for their aged parents, and witnessing their deaths in hospitals and nursing homes – often accompanied by unnecessary suffering and acute complications. These “boomers” do not wish to meet a similar fate of their own. Expecting to live longer than previous generations, “boomers” recognize that life has little quality without good health and well-being. The healthcare environment is rapidly changing, and at center stage is an emerging paradigm: Consumer self-care and personal responsibility. A massive movement is underway as people all over the world are becoming motivated to learn about the nature of good health, and are eagerly seeking out various alternatives to conventional drug-related therapies and surgery. Encompassing a wide variety of therapies and approaches, these “alternatives” focus on the state of health and lifestyle for the individual, and its cause and maintenance ~ instead of on a disease and the treatment of its symptoms. It is no longer a “fringe movement”; it is becoming mainstream with over 30 medical schools now offering courses in alternative/complementary healthcare therapies and modalities. Some medical schools are integrating the “content” of alternative medicine into required courses, and others as “electives”. NOTE: A detailed update of the courses available in medical schools can be found in the May 1998 issue of Alternative and Complementary Therapies in Health and Medicine. In 1992, the Congress of the United States established the Office of Alternative Medicine (OAM) within the National Institute of Health (NIH). This office is responsible for establishing systems to evaluate the mechanisms and effects of various alternative therapies. Interestingly, the OAM was subsequently “Center Status” within the NIH, and a new organization was created – the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. A current list of research information and studies focusing on evaluating the use of alternatives and complementary healthcare therapies is available at their website: http://www.NCCAM.nih.gov In conclusion, the noted author, Gerald Celente, forecasts an unprecedented acceleration of the Health/Fitness/Nutrition trend ~ paving the way for a multi-billion dollar industry. He describes the concept of the “Healthy U”. To be a “Healthy U” requires awareness, consciousness, education and self-responsibility. Body maintenance – keeping the only machine you’ve been given, running, and in good shape – is just one aspect of a wellness program. Learning how to take care of yourself and direct your antennae with assurance and understanding to wholistic healthcare practitioners and providers, products, services, and a healthy regimen, will keep you vibrant, healthy and well. |
